For Podcasters

So you have been going it alone all this time, and have had little success in garnering advertising for your podcast? We hear you. We’ve been there. The purpose of the Stoplight Network is simple and two-fold: to promote other podcasts on the network, and to garner advertising for shows on the network.

How does this change your show? Very, very little. You play at least two ads: one from the network itself, and one paid advertising. The nice thing? You make the choice of which ads to play. You also play the “Stoplight Bumper” at either the start or end of your show.

That’s all.

No, really. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. We promote each other, and share in any advertising revenue.

Ah, the money part! Revenue!

So your question is: how much can you make? Honestly, we don’t know. Could be a little, could be a lot. It depends.

We are actively seeking advertisers for the network. However, we are only seeking advertisers who actually PAY to advertise. None of those “Go to such-and-such website and enter our show code” crap. Those types of podcast advertising are crap, and it allows companies to advertise for free. Yeah, for free! They ONLY pay Podcasts on how many of their listeners are converted into customers.

NO other media advertising does this. None. And we think its disrespectful to the audience and the hard working Podcasters.

Why do we think this is crap? Easy: it’s the same advertisers on all the different podcasts. So if your listener also listens to another show, and heard the ad there first and signed up, guess who ain’t getting paid? You. And what happens a month after you stop running that companies ads and your listeners decide to sign up? Guess who ain’t getting paid? You again.

It’s pretty simple: if a company wants to promote their business or product on one of the shows in our network, they have to PAY YOU to do it. Cash On Delivery, baby. Just like radio, television, newspapers, billboards, and magazines.

The Podcasts who run those ads WILL BE PAID to do so. No B.S. No secret codes to remember. You play the ad, you get the cash. Pretty simple, yes?

So, interested? Fill out the form below and we will contact you.

For Advertisers

We know what a pain in the ass this new “Podcast” revolution has been to you. What shows should you advertise on? How much should you spend? We get it. It’s a huge pain.

The StopLight Network is a collection of independent podcasters who are looking to run some advertising on their shows. We don’t control the content of their shows. We don’t own those shows, or have any say whatsoever on what goes on during their show. All we do is help promote other shows in the network, and run a few ads to help pay the bills. Producing a podcast ain’t cheap in hours or money.

I’ll be honest with you. Our listeners are some of the most faithful in the entire world. Our listeners don’t just flip a dial and listen to what ever is spoon fed them. They made a choice to either subscribe to these shows in iTunes, listen on a website, or use a app such as Stitcher to listen.  The point is, the listeners pick us from thousands of other free to subscribe podcasts out there.

We are selective on what type of advertising we will accept. For instance, if your idea is to run an ad that makes the listeners go to a specific URL and enter a code, forget it.

Also, we don’t advertise companies that do profit-share. We get paid to advertise your product or company, we are not interested in only being paid IF a listener joins or signs up on your website.

In other words, no affiliates allowed!

The podcasters themselves decide which ads to run, so if you have an “adult” product you are trying to sell, be aware that the majority of our shows won’t run those ads. Also remember that the people who listen to our our podcasts come from all over the world and from all backgrounds, so if your product is offensive, don’t count on many of our podcasters running your ad.

How much will it cost you? Depends on the amount you want to spend and / or how many of the podcasters will want to run your ad. A rough estimate: $200/episode. Could be less if you commit to a longer advertising campaign. The podcasters who run your ad will make between 25-50% of the money you spend to advertise. (Again, depends on your budget)

We will be honest here. A short ad run, say one episode on three or four podcasts, will probably yield you a small return. Longer ad campaigns will give you much more bang for your buck.

Oh, and yes, you can specify which podcasts you are only interested in advertising on, or which you don’t want anything to do with. We are flexible that way.

Interested? Let’s talk! Fill out the form below, and we will give you a call (or email if you prefer) to discuss it in more detail.
